Alicja Nowak Named As A 2023 Future Leader in Convenience

Today we’re thrilled to announce that Alicja Nowak, Marketing Manager Now Prepay, has been recognized by Convenience Store News Canada + OCTANE as a winner of the inaugural Future Leaders in Convenience + Car Wash Awards (FLICC).

FLICC celebrates and recognizes the next generation of Canadian leaders across all areas of the convenience, gas and car wash business—from independent retailers and dealers to those working for regional/national/international chains, as well as partner, distributors, vendors and CPG professionals.

“This new-to-Canada awards program is the result of conversations with people across Canada, who champion this as a dynamic industry in which to build a diverse and rewarding career,” says CSNC editor and associate publisher, Michelle Warren. “People who work in this business know they are making a difference and playing an important role in communities across Canada.”

“We’re very proud of Alicja being recognized by the industry for her work within it,” Says Grace Caputo, Chief Growth Officer of Payment Source. “Alicja’s dedication to the convenience store industry is seen through everything she does and this designation is very much deserved.”

Winners were chosen following an industry-wide call for nominations. FLICC 2023 recognizes individuals under the age of 40 (as of Dec. 31, 2023) who have demonstrated:

  • A commitment to a career in convenience/gas/car wash and related areas
  • Innovation through the work they are doing and unique ideas they bring to the table
  • Leadership through the capacity to inspire and learn from others
  • Initiative by getting involved on a larger level, i.e., through committees, associations, events, charitable work or community relations.
Profiles of the 22 winners are published at CCentral.ca and in the November/December issue of the print and digital magazines. In addition to highlighting career accomplishments, FLICC winners shared how their work aligns with their values around important issues, including giving back, sustainability, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

The FLICC winners will be celebrated at The Convenience U CARWACS Show on March 6, 2024.
