Payment Source Expands Partnership with Paysafe to Add Online Cash Transactions

Payment Source, Canada’s premier alternative payments provider, is very pleased to announce that its existing partnership with Paysafe is expanding to include new Paysafecash transactions. Now available at over 6,500 participating Payment Source retailers, consumers will have a new way to shop online and pay with cash. PaySimply, an online portal that facilitates payments to the Canada Revenue Agency, will be among the first to go live with this payment choice.

Developed by the same team who created the paysafecard prepaid vouchers, Paysafecash is Paysafe’s latest alternative payment method that allows cash-based payments to be made simply and securely over the Internet. Online shoppers can make purchases even if they lack access to a credit card or online banking account, or simply don’t want to provide their financial data online for security reasons. Paysafecash is a “stage and pay” method that targets ecommerce merchants, such as travel sites, ticketing and subscription services. Using Paysafecash, a product or service can be ordered online and then paid for directly with cash or debit at a participating retailer.

To make a purchase, consumers will simply follow through with their ecommerce shopping as normal.  Once at checkout, they will have the option to choose Paysafecash as their payment method.  This will then generate a QR/ barcode (mobile or print) that is specific to their purchase. They will then be able to head to their nearest Paysafecash payment point such as their local Canada Post location, or one of Payment Source’s Now Prepay scanner-ready retailers, where they can present the QR / barcode to the clerk to pay for their order. After the payment is made, the ecommerce retailer is notified in real-time and releases the “staged” order for shipment when physical goods are involved. The online transaction has been completed, and none of the purchaser’s financial information has been shared over the Internet. For a small fee of $3.50 per transaction, Paysafecash is a quick, secure alternative to traditional online payments and is currently limited to amounts between $10 and $500.

“Paysafe has been a longstanding partner with Payment Source,” said Robert Hyde, VP Payment Services at Payment Source. “We are excited to see this relationship expand, and to be able to help offer Canadian consumers a safe and secure way to shop online with cash.”

“Paysafe is focused on offering much-needed additional payment options for online shoppers,” said Udo Müller, CEO of paysafecard, Paysafe Group. “By teaming up with Payment Source, we are able to engage with consumers who wouldn’t normally purchase online and enable them to use cash doing so -- creating growth opportunities for retailers around the world and in this case within Canada.”
